Its Amazing History:
Our carousel has had a few different homes since its construction.
1925-1928: Delaware Beach, New Castle, Delaware
1929-1945: Lakewood Park, Waterbury, CT
1945-1951: Refurbished at Philadelphia Toboggan Company Factory in Philadelphia, PA
1952-2009: Kiddieland Park, Melrose Park, Illinois
2009-2017: In Storage, Chicago, Illinois
2017: Sonny’s Place, Somers, CT
Since arriving at Sonny’s Place in May 2017, considerable work has been done to prepare this ride for years of service. We are in the process of having the 48 horses on the carousel restored by the New England Carousel Museum. When riding our carousel, you may notice a few horses missing for restoration. This will continue until all of 48 horses are restored!
